A group of four of us went to Southern Distilling Co. this past weekend for a tour and tasting and we had a great time! We started off with their old fashioned before the tour which was delicious. Our tour started right on time and our guide, Nathan, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable. The whole tour was really cool and informative. (*Don't wear heels, the upstairs floor is grated) ... The tasting was also great afterwards. The double rye and cream liqueur were my two favorites! They have a nice bar, really beautiful tasting room and super cool lobby area with a bunch of great merchandise with some perfect gift ideas. Don't wait. Go check it out!!

It's definitely worth going and taking a tour. Get a little history of the region before prohibition and after. A little of how things are made. Then a few samples of rhe products.

If you are looking for an NC hidden gem, go check out Southern Distilling Company hidden away in Statesville. From the friendly greeting to the behind the scenes tour we were treated like old friends. Not only was our tour guide uber informative - a wonderful social studies teacher moonlighting in the moonshine - but the immersive experience continued through the tasting and into the bar. My husband is a bourbon drinker, I am not but the wonderful Laurel mixed me a beautiful off menu drink that brought me over to the dark liquor side. Whether you want to learn more about the hidden history of NC or just are looking for a cozy place to clink glasses with friends, Southern Distilling Company is the place to be.

Awesome, informative tour! The best part was learning how to taste the bourbon. The products are top quality also. I would suggest arriving early to have a cocktail as they are delicious.

Went here for a bourbon education and most certainly got it! Had about 14 or 15 bourbon questions answered by those in the know! BEAUTIFUL facility all the way down to polished concrete floors throughout and designer restrooms. They have a beautiful tastin bar and a large variety of tasy rye and wheat bourbon conctions in proofs to please any palate! I'm proud to say Statesville is home to a major league quality distiller. SDC knows bourbon!

Great place, was a very friendly place greeting me as soon as i entered. A beautiful sitting place with couches and chairs, a nice bar ready to serve you a drink. Its very open, the tour was fun, very informative and very springy the tour guide was. And to top it off they sold me on two of their bottles that one was very surprising that i bought it. Would happily take it again especially if they have more options to try
