A great visit! We received a thorough and detailed history lesson on distilleries in Statesville. Terry Joe was quite versed on the history of bourbon and whiskey in the area and the history of the company. Later, after a 'hot' tour (it was hot, literally,) she and Jack shared more history during our taste test. I found the bourbon-infused coffee quite smooth and tasty and purchased a bag. The taste testing was a hit with everyone. We even got to sample 152.6 proof stock that was yet to be bottled! This was a great opportunity to sample whiskey and bouron that is locally made with grains purchased from local farmers.

I really like what these guys are doing. They are worth your time to stop and tour the place. Very clean and professional. The 4 spirits we tasted we're smooth but diverse in taste. The last one was a very nice chocolate flavored desert shot.They are going to start making a new one that is an old recipe first used by a Statesville businessman until the 18th Amendment shut them down in the early 1900's. The tour and taste were a delightful break from I-77 traffic. I enjoyed the history and learning how the distillery runs it's liquors.

Very clean and the tour was more comprehensive than other distillery tours I've taken. Our tour guide was great and the group was small. We had ample time to ask any questions, take photos, and look at all of the equipment. They even have a full barrel on display that allows the guides to show what happens to the inside of the barrel during the aging process. The tour comes with a tasting at the end and that was also great.
